It’s totally normal to feel guilty during and after divorce – but that doesn’t mean it’s healthy to get that in your head and let it take up space there. Your life is moving forward now, and you’re on a different path.

You need a support network now more than ever. Even if you don’t discuss your divorce with your tribe, you need to know that humans are hard-wired to be social – and that means you need to be around other people, at least some of the time.
Divorce Tip #3: Recognize Your Feelings (and Accept Them)
It’s perfectly okay to have feelings about your divorce, and they can be incredibly broad-ranging. You might feel angry, hurt or upset all in one day (or even one morning!), and in order to move past those feelings, you have to accept them. Know that these feelings will dull with time; they’re not permanent.
Divorce Tip #4: Take Care of Yourself, Physically and Emotionally
Try to take time out for exercise – even if it’s just a walk around your office building – and to eat well. We know, it’s asking a lot, but exercise goes a long way toward clearing your head and helping you stay on top of your game.
Divorce Tip #5: Get to Know Yourself Again
What did you enjoy before you met your spouse? Do it again! If it’s not that simple, do things you never had time to do while you were attending your ex, like reading an entire book cover-to-cover on the sofa or binge-watching your favorite show on Netflix. (Seriously – let the dishes pile up in the sink for one day. It’s not going to hurt anything.)
