Let’s be clear: there are about 11 million undocumented immigrants in the U.S. right now.
How Does Donald Trump Feel About Amnesty for Undocumented Immigrants?
“They have to go… we either have a country or we don’t have a country,” Trump said in the same interview.
Trump’s announcement about his intention to deport every undocumented immigrant in the country (and somehow manage to keep families together) came on the heels of his inflammatory comments about Mexican immigrants.
In case you missed it, Trump said, “When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”
He’s not just talking about Mexican immigrants, although he did say that he would build a wall between the U.S. and Mexico – and force Mexico to pay for it.
“You have people coming in, and I’m not just saying Mexicans, I’m talking about people that are from all over that are killers and rapists and they’re coming into this country,” Trump said.
