Fraud Sentence Reduced for Enron Exec

by Gamino Law Offices on 06/22/13

Employee theft and and fraud cases can have devastating effects on companies, employees, and the public, just ask a criminal lawyer like Attorney Carlos Gamino.

In the case of the Enron scandal and collapse in 2001, the effect of the company's illegal business activities, employee fraud, conspiracy, and obstructing investigators, was the collapse of a giant energy company, the subsequent collapse of a major auditing and accounting firm (Arthur Anderson), and left more than 5,000 people unemployed without earned pension benefits, in addition to the shock and public mistrust it created.  One executive who was convicted of 19 counts as part of that scandal, obtained a re-sentencing that resulted in a 10 year reduction in his sentence, from 24 years to 14.
