Dumb Criminal Mistakes that Anyone Could Make - Milwaukee Criminal Defense Lawyers  - Attorney Carlos Gamino

Some people have horrible luck. If you’re one of them, pay close attention: our team of Milwaukee criminal defense lawyers has put together a list of the three dumbest criminal mistakes made in recent history… and the worst part? They could happen to anyone.

Dumb Criminal Mistake #1: The Butt-Dial

A pair of guys in Fresno who were having a blast breaking into cars, smoking marijuana and stealing things accidentally butt-dialed 911. The dispatcher got an earful for more than a half-hour, and police tracked them by piecing together the conversation.

They’re not the only ones, either. It’s happened from Wisconsin to Oklahoma.

Dumb Criminal Mistake #2: Robbing Someone Who Watches WWE

Some criminals bite off more than they can chew, like the guy who tried to hop over a gas station counter and didn’t account for the fact that the clerk was an avid wrestling fan. Let’s lump in criminals who don’t know how to dress themselves, too, such as the man who couldn’t figure out how to wear a ski mask, the one who should’ve worn a belt, and the one who left the house in his pajamas.

Dumb Criminal Mistake #3: Overestimating Your Ability

It goes without saying that if you’re going to run from police, you should probably be able to run. Not everyone is athletically gifted… especially not the man who tried to leap over a police vehicle. Others aren’t prepared for tethered cell phones, while some have far too much confidence in their digestive systems.

What’s the Moral of the Story?

While some of these are genuinely funny, the fact that they all happened during the commission of crimes is not. The moral of the story? Don’t commit any crimes. Murphy’s Law is real – any Milwaukee criminal defense attorney can tell you that.
